The DVB stack is the core software component of a digital TV receiver. The stack manages the reception of digital broadcast services, presents information on available channels and programmes via an Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), and ultimately enables the selection of content to watch or record.

For the foreseeable future the majority of hourly TV watching will continue to be over the air broadcast or recordings of those broadcasts.

Dependable broadcast stacks are at the heart of Pixsan's solutions. Our DVB and DVR solutions offer fast, realiable and customisable experiences for our customers and the consumer.

Elgist is a mature DVB software stack from Pixsan, which over the past 10 years has been deployed in over 5M devices in a range of digital STBs, iDTVs and DVRs.

With the integration of embedded CA libraries Elgist fully supports the requirements of PayTV services. Elgist has been sucessfully integrated and deployed with services protected by conditional access from Nagra, Conax and the latest smartcard-less solution from Latens.

The Elgist DVB Stack is also HbbTV ready, and when integrated with the Hydra DSM-CC solution, MediaClip player, and a compliant browser, it provides the heart of a complete HbbTV software solution. For more information on this please see our HbbTV product page.
